Pre Treatment and Aftercare

For best results and to make the most of the procedure, it is important to follow the advice given below

Before the treatment

30 days before

  • Avoid facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion.
  • Botox injections and fillers should be performed at least 4 weeks in before the treatment, as they can affect the position of your brows and the texture of your skin.
  • Do not take antibiotics. We won’t be able to perform the treatment if you do.
  • Completely avoid anti-aging and anti-acne products.
  • Do not use Retin A within 30 days of the treatment (and no Accutane for one year prior).
  • Refrain from undergoing any type of surgery.
  • A waiting period of 14 days following your Covid vaccine is required and no procedures should be performed between the first and the second dose

2 weeks before

  • Do not use a tanning bed. If you arrive with a sunburn, your appointment will be rescheduled, and your deposit will be forfeited.
  • Avoid waxing or tinting services for 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

72 hours before

  • Avoid blood thinners such as Ibuprofen, aspirin, Aleve, NSAIDs, vitamin E, fish oil, or vitamins unless necessary for medical reasons. If you are on prescribed blood thinners, obtain a doctor’s note.

24 hours before

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hours prior.
  • Do not work out.

On the day

  • Avoid caffeinated drinks.
  • Stay hydrated and eat a light meal.
  • Treatment can’t be performed if you have eczema or psoriasis on the treated area.
  • Treatment can’t be performed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; you need to wait 4-6 months after giving birth or breastfeeding.
  • Treatment can’t be performed if you have diabetes

After the treatment

Eyebrow treatment healing time is usually 7-10 days. The final eyebrow colour appears only after full 4 weeks of healing.

After treatment, the colour of your brows will look much brighter and will stay that way for 7-10 days. You should expect some flaking which normally lasts for a week. Once your brows heal and stop flaking, they will appear much lighter. This is normal. The final colour will show after full 4 weeks of healing has passed.

Day 1:

Wipe your brows hourly with sterile water (boiled and cooled down), and apply your lip blush aftercare ointment (given to you after the procedure). Wiping your lips is of utmost importance as it will help prevent scabbing. Apply the ointment in the morning and at night f or 4 weeks. Never apply the ointment with a finger, use a cotton bud instead.

Day 2 onwards:

Cleaning with sterile water is no longer required but please continue applying the aftercare ointment for the full 4 weeks to achieve the best colour. Avoid getting your brows wet until the flaking stops (usually within 1 week).

Avoid within the first 10 days:

  • Increased sweating or intense physical activities, as salt from sweat can push out the pigment and reduce retention.
  • Swimming.
  • Saunas, jacuzzis, or tanning.
  • Laser treatments or chemical peels.
  • Retin-A or Glycolic Acid.
  • Heavy cleaning involving dust or debris.
  • Spicy foods.
  • Smoking or alcohol, as they slow down the healing process.
  • Driving in open-air vehicles such as convertibles.
  • Excessive touching of the treated area, except when cleaning or applying balm.
  • Applying any makeup on or around the treated area.
  • Taking extra hot showers.

Further advise:

  • When the treated area begins to itch or become patchy, avoid scratching or picking. Instead, gently pat the area to prevent scarring and pigment loss.
  • Do not pick at the area during the peeling stage; this is a natural part of the healing process. Your permanent makeup may initially appear softer and greyer until the color clarifies. Expect your new permanent makeup to undergo several phases during the healing cycle.
  • It is normal to lose some original hair strokes or pigmentation, as everyone’s skin heals differently. Uneven healing is common, which is why a touch-up session is needed to add more strokes or pigmentation and perfect the shape if necessary.
  • Keep your face away from the shower head while the area is healing.
  • Avoid applying makeup to the treated area until peeling is complete. No exceptions.
  • Avoid sleeping positions that may rub against the treated area. Try sleeping on your side or wearing a silk or satin face mask to reduce friction.
  • When in the sun, cover your brows or treated area with a hat to prevent fading and undesired color changes. Always wear sunscreen on the treated area once healed if not wearing makeup.
